I started collecting Anime Figurines, specifically Nendoroids and Figma, at the end of the year 2011. My very first nendoroid was a Snow Miku bought from Comic Alley, Trinoma. As of today, I have seven in my collection...but I don't think it really deserves to be called a collection.
I bought a Black Rock Shooter figma once but its joints broke easily. That was the time I began to wonder. Nendoroid prices usually starts at 1,200 PhP, what I got at Comic Alley had a price of 600. 50% off for a nendoroid imported from Japan, that sounds too good to be true. Yup that's right, not to destroy the name of the 'Anime Specialty Store' but the Nendoroids and Figma that they sell are all bootlegs. Even in conventions, prices for an old nendoroid won't go lower than 1000 PhP.
It's sad to think that I enjoyed the feel of a Figure Collector but all I had were frauds. Kinda breaks the heart, yeah?

Five of my 7 imitation nendoroids, all bought from a certain Anime specialty store. |
