Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! Review

Unlike the first season of Full Metal Panic which was action packed and slightly low on non-sense, Fumoffu! took a different turn focusing more on humor.

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! was taken over by Kyoto Animation but not a great deal of details were changed. Character designs seem smoother but remains virtually alike as in the first season, animation was, of course, slightly improved considering the change in animation studio.

Technical matters aside, let us focus on the story of this season.

Fumoffu! isn't what the audience would consider a direct sequel to the first season. Fumoffu! doesn't feature the action packed, trigger-happy, AS smashing moments as in the first season but instead focuses on the high school life of Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori.
Immediately noticeable on the very first episode, all the action and seriousness are missing but this fact won't entirely disappoint fans of the series. Guns n' Roses (which is to say action and drama) might not be the main theme and driving point of this season, we are still treated to the amazing "boke" and "tsukkomi" tandem of Sousuke and Kaname (despite Sousuke being oblivious to his own humorous paranoia).

Still, being said that action is not the main driving force of this season, it doesn't mean that it's entirely missing. There is still action, in the form of misadventures. Guns which are non-lethal. Grenades that does not involve explosions and a whole lot more.
Also expect to know more about the schoolmates of Kaname and Sousuke rather than taking another claustrophobic tour in Tuatha de Danaan and meeting Mithril soldiers.
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! in simple terms is a slice-of-life/school life, comedy anime with a few dashes of action on the side.
