Here I go again with the "2 days on 1 post" post- sorry about that.
I wasn't feeling all too well last night and I'm my condition today isn't any better to be honest. But this is my duty and I enjoy posting on my blog.
June 14
Woke up early for my first STAT 1 class. Luckily it was just an orientation, still the class took up the whole time. The lecturer already has a PhD of I don't know what and she's a little bit on the too serious type.
I have a 5 hour free time before my next class and so I spent that time watching Sket Dance and Chihayafuru.
I reached Usui Kazuyoshi's arc and thos 1 and a half episodes brought me to tears. I already knew-prior to watching Sket Dance- Himeko and Bossun's story but not Usui and so it was all the more reason for me to tear up.
And spectacles is so cheerful yet that's how his past was...
I also played 2 rounds of non-standard Cardfight!! rules against Sami, I lost both via deck-out.
My next class was Math 27 which was 1-2 pm.
I got to the classroom early and met with some old classmates. We enjoyed our first session because our instructor was also the same instructor as our Math 17 last year. He's a slightly fresh graduate and we're his 2nd or 3rd batch teaching in UPLB. He's known by his students to be cheerful, humorous, of course intelligent and very helpful when it comes to improving and keeping ourselves up.
I have a 2-hour break before my last class which was NASC 2. I went back to the dorm to drink some water and went straight to the building.
I waited at the benches of the Institute of Biology and for 1 and a half hours I read Norwegian Wood.
Mom also e-mailed me prior to coming there saying that she'd be arriving today instead of tomorrow because of various circumstances involving the family car.
Around 30 minutes to 4 the IBSMH was vacated by the previous class and the next batch of students were allowed to enter. There we waited for our instructor. It was very chilly inside especially to those seated at sides and corners. The combo of an air-conditioning unit and wall fan was like adding petroleum to flames, only with a different effect.
We also only had an orientation today and was arranged according to alphabetical order.
When I got back to the dorm, mom was already there. I ate salmon and chicken lollipop for dinner.
Around 11 pm watched Equilibrium and around 12 I slept first. I'm pretty sure she followed 15 or 30 minutes after.
June 15
I was having a nice sleep when I was interrupted by the bites of damn mosquitoes. I got out of bed and sprayed off aqua spritz and went back to sleep. I was woken up around 9:50 by my mom.
I ate the same thing as last night and took a bath. The morning was very, very hot and the mosquitoes in the room were really annoying me.
Before we left the dorm I went into an insecticide spraying frenzy hoping that all those DAMN mosquitoes die.
Mom and I went to our trusted laundry service and left our laundry there to be picked up tomorrow.
We then went to the church to pray. Inside the blessed sacrament, I saw a pair of lost reading glasses seating on one of the chairs. I wore it and based on the grade of the lenses I'm pretty sure it belonged to an aged person. I left a note telling the next person who'll see the glasses that it was left by somebody...still I think it was unnecessary because from one simple look it's already obvious that someone did accidentally left it.
After going to the church, mom and I went to a sports specialty store specifically for the PE students of UPLB. Mom bought me my PE shirt and shorts for my PE 2 class. It was slightly tight fitting but we had no choice.
After purchasing the PE uniform, we went to SM Calamba.
Mom and I ate lunch at Pizza Hut. Went to SM Cinemas to purchase 2 Man of Steel tickets scheduled at 3:10 pm. Still having a vacant time, mom and I went to Fuji Film to get a picture for a 2x2 photo afterwards mom took me to Bench/Fix for me to get a haircut with the Koyomi Araragi hairstyle. I have to say the senior stylist there was truly an expert. His name is Aderson (i'm not too sure about that but I think it sounds like that). He did a good job on my hair but I still need to grow it, he said.
After the haircut, we went to Dairy Queen to buy Ice Cream and then we went back to SM Cinemas.
Man of Steel was pretty much action packed all the way but the film felt like it was unorganized.
For a film almost 2 and a half hours long, it could've dwelled properly on back-story, current happenings and conclusions.
It's also full of unnecessary action sequences...it's a mess. Zod wasn't especially a sinister villain. He's not someone corrupted by power, he's just someone corrupted by his position and his duties as chief soldier of Krypton. But he was still a worthy antagonist for our hero. Their final confrontation wasn't thought of too well. It lacks the imaginative and creative part in battles that Zack Snyder brought in 300. It was just a smack and whack battle that lacks depth. The manner in which Zod was defeated was also something unremarkable.
Though considering this is the first part of a possible trilogy, we could only hope for a much more action packed and deeper story in the films to come.
I do wonder...what ever happened to Lex Luthor and the Kryptonite? (There was a mention of LexCorp during the last 30 minutes of the film thought you have to be keen to see it).
After the film, we went to the supermarket to buy several things and went home.
We arrived around 7:30 and since then I've been typing this post. I'm not pretty sure what I'll be doing tonight...I'll probably sleep early. Well then, goodbye.
