I've decided to post late for this day because we won't have any classes again tomorrow. The reason for that euphoric news is because tomorrow is the anniversary of the birth of the country's national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. Now normally it's not a non-working holiday but since Dr. Rizal was born in Laguna, the whole Laguna province will enjoy that day as a non-working holiday to celebrate his birth, the life that he lived and his martyrdom.
I woke up around 5:50 am today. Usual morning routine.
I ate a light breakfast today as suggested by our PE 2 Run instructor. I ate two slices of bread with Queensland butter spread generously on the surface and washed it down with a cup of iced coffee.
I got to the meeting place for our PE 2 session 12 minutes early. That morning marked my first time wearing the official Physical Education uniform of the university. The shorts and shirt weren't comfortable at all, they were tight fitting but it is, as a compensation, lightweight when wet with sweat.
Our PE 2 session started with, of course, warm-ups and stretching which was followed by a grueling 1 mile run. We covered 2 laps of the upper-ground field which was equivalent to one mile. Considering my low level of physical fitness (I gave myself a 5 out of 10 but clearly I was still overestimating myself) my depressing performance didn't come as a surprise-to me it didn't- I got exhausted halfway through the first lap. I did recovery walks in-between moderate jogs and broke my limits at the last 100 or so meters which I exerted a full force run.
I felt like an eggplant left out dry in the sun for ages when I got back to my apartment. I sat down wiping all the sweat that my spores excreted before taking a shower.
I wanted to retreat back to my bed because of the fatigue my body felt but I figured that if I did then I would never conquer that kind of feeling and so I kept myself up with a can of Mountain Dew and 3 pieces of chicken lollipop cooked by my grandmother.
My following classes, which were all cluttered up, went by normally. Our CMSC 21 instructor already started with the 1st topic in the syllabus of the semester and the same thing occurred at CMSC 57 and Math 27.
We were dismissed 5 minutes early from our Math 27 session. When we left the lecture hall the dark clouds that formed early on finally bathe the earth with about an hour-long of heavy rain. The wind blew in tandem with the pre-storm but it didn't last long enough for the remaining classes of the day to be suspended.
We didn't have any discussions in Hum 1. Instead, we took up about 45 minutes of the time to pay and acquire the required material for the course which was the bulky Hum 1 Reader. It was not a book, though it appeared as one, it was more of a collection of stories, narratives and any other literary piece-as chosen by our instructor- and was bounded together by a ring (thus the term ring bind).
I arrived early in the venue of my last class for the day which was the lab session of my CMSC 21 subject. I made good use of the free time by reading up to the start of the last chapter of Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. Our instructor arrived close to 5 minutes after the campus-wide buzzer. She took the attendance and proceeded to address the tasks that we are to accomplish during the class. We were given a good news in the form of not holding any exercise for that session. Instead, the class had a diagnostic exam. It was simply a 15 item short exam about the prerequisite course of CMSC 21 which was CMSC 11. Most of the questions are about basic programming-whatever kind of difficult basic the institute has- taken maybe a notch from the normal difficulty.
I received a score of 13.5/15. I would have 12.5 if it wasn't for the bonus question.
When we were dismissed, I and two of my friends and also course mates chatted until we went on our separate ways.
I stopped over at my apartment for a while before going out again to try my luck back at the Fortune Insurance company. Sadly, when I got to the front of their office they were already closed. I went straight to St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish afterwards to attend the mass. I made it just after the offertory and stayed until the final blessing. I also went to the Adoration Chapel for a short quiet talk with our Lord.
When I got back to my apartment, the usual evening routine followed.
I watched 4 episodes of Sket Dance as well as Hot Fuzz. I am feeling quite dizzy now as I did sort out my cosplay masks early this evening. I'll be posting some of them, of course.
I'm caught between two options of which character I should cosplay next. 1 is Kaito Shion and the other is Gauche Suede |
