I woke up around 8:45 today. Usual morning routine.
I ate fried rice with 3 strips of salmon belly.
I almost ran late for my NSTP class. It was an awkward walk-run experience as I went to the building.
We first had a short lecture about our previous assignment then we had a group activity.
Our group activity was about the traits that the majority of the Filipino people share. After picking one trait, we have to select a model among our group mates and craft a costume for him/her out of our NSTP materials which consists mostly of stationery materials.
While most of the groups chose positive traits, ours selected the "Filipino time" trait which is synonymous to always being late.
We made a cape out of manila paper and several tie-in accessories with the dominant theme of clocks.
The instructors allotted 30 minutes for the crafting period and 30 minutes for the catwalk. Unfortunately, our group didn't place in any of the honorable mentions.
After the make-believe fashion show, the instructors presented a short documentary film about the helpfulness of the Filipino people during the World War II period.
The documentary was titled: Rescue in the Philippines (or something like that). It was about the Jewish people who were dragged out of Germany at the time of the 2nd world war and was warmly accepted by our country.
Probably 10 minutes into the video the electric power went down and so our instructors reluctantly dismissed the class early.
When we got out of the lecture hall, rain started to pour down violently. I didn't bring any umbrella, unfortunately, because that morning was very sunny. I had to text my mom to come and pick me up. About 5 or 10 minutes after receiving my message, she went on her way but went to the wrong building so I had to wait for another 5 minutes.
Within that time, two people were arguing about sharing a small umbrella. They are friends, I presume, based on how close they were (literally). The one with the umbrella was going to the Physical Science Building while the other was going to Raymundo- a slightly long walk from the current building that we were all at.
They did share but the guy without the umbrella ran after a short but slightly intimate walk.
When she picked me up we went to the church to pray.
After praying at the Adoration Chapel of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, we ate lunch at KFC.
The McDonald's nearest UPLB - stationed at the entrance gate- is still under renovation until next month.
After eating lunch, we went back to the apartment. The weather was sunny again and down there on the surface of the earth was extremely warm again.
Mom packed her things and left for Castillejos around 2:45 pm. I felt lonely again for a short while. I went out for a while and went back after 30 minutes.
I spent the afternoon watching Chihayafuru while folding paper cranes. I finished the Omi Jingu arc around 5 in the afternoon.
Chihaya was spectacular in her match against the Queen, Shinobu Wakamiya, even though she lost.
I ate fried rice with salmon for dinner, shaved and took a bath.
Even if I did moved in a front unit in the building, the place is still so freakin' hot. If I move out of the blast radius of an electric fan I'd be drenched in sweat in less than a minute.
I spent about an hour studying Elementary Statistics, Math 27 and CMSC 21.
After posting this I'll still be around for maybe another hour or so before my pocket wifi device (or I should say my mom's pocket wifi device because she's the one paying for it) runs out of battery.
Well then, goodnight.
