Single Player blues

I've mentioned before how much I enjoy gaming, whether it be video games or card games.
Single Player mode is usually the best choice when playing video games. Multiplayer or co-op mode are usually only there for a new experience with a little tweak in mechanics as the single player mode.
But there are card games which just gives you the blues when you have no one to play with.
I'm talking about this because I learned a new card game today and I have no one to play with.

Over the past vacation, I learned two new card games, Hanafuda and Cardfight Vanguard.
And it's not surprising that I decided to learn those two because of anime.

I studied the rules and how-to's of hanafuda because of the anime film Summer Wars.
Hanafuda was the card game played by Natsuki and Love Machine played at the climax of the film.
My decision to learn Cardfight Vanguard was obviously because of the anime and also its characters- Misaki Tokura and Emi Sendou.

I still have a lot to learn in both card games. In Hanafuda, though, I found my opponent in the form of AI. Every time I have free time, I go to the site of Hanafuda Flash and play with the computer. I am usually at the losing end but there are those glorious moments where I get heavy hitting yakus like Rainman (Ame-shiko) or Gouko (5 brights).
I even asked my mom to request an order to one of her friends who have a Japanese husband to buy 1 set of the flower cards and send it to the philippines. The cards were very pricey but I hold them with great care. So far, the cards have not been used in any game yet. I'm still trying to find someone who knows the rules and is willing to play with me.

In Cardfight, I just learned the rules this day and began with a Golden Paladin pre-set deck. Golden Paladin is Aichi Sendou's deck as far as I know. I would've picked Toshiki Kai's Narukami deck but Aichi struck me as something friendlier to novices. Cardfight was made in collaboration of the creators of Yu-gi-oh, Duel Masters and Bushiroad. Their combined imaginations brought us a unique and enjoyable card game that plays more on strategy than card strength.
I think with the Starter's Guide and Play Book included in the trial deck, I've understood the idea of Riding the Vanguard, Calling Units, drive check and damage check. I guess all I really need now is someone to play with...and that really gives me the blues having no one to play with. Still, if I enjoyed it with just my imagination playing with someone, I guess it's twice or maybe thrice the fun with someone to play with.
