But I have to be honest, it's one of the best comedy anime that I've watched in a long time.
To those who already played (or watched) several titles enclosed in the Nasuverse, relating to the flow of each episode is a breeze. And merely having the surface knowledge of each character and story greatly amplifies the quality of the show.
It's pure humor with a rare kind of quality.

Having said that, though, those who are new to the series might not find Carnival Phantasm all that humorous. This is another way of saying that it is important to watch the original series first before watching CP to avoid the "huh" during each segment and also to avoid spoilers.
After watching CP, I'll never see the characters of Fate and Tsukihime the same way again. The cliffhanger at episode 12, where Ayaka's voice was heard, was a nice exit for the series. But showing Fate/Prototype was another thing. Even though it was the base (or origin) of the whole universe of Fate, they might as well lengthened the first (and probably only) episode of Prototype. The people behind Type-Moon was correct though, a Male Saber doesn't appeal much and doesn't do justice to the character of Ayaka. I liked how Sajyou Ayaka was presented, and the atmosphere of that whole 12 minutes, but male Saber just didn't click for me. Perhaps it's because al of us are already aware of female Saber's existence or he simply doesn't amount to much depends on the audiences' taste.
Carnival Phantasm:
Music: 10/10 (great opening and ending theme songs)
Characters: 10/10
Story: -
since the gag series doesn't really have any plot, I refrained from giving it any rating. Still, overall I still think Carnival Phantasm is a perfect on and of its genre.
(review's a little short, I'll try to edit this whenever)
