The Blue Turtle, a treasure in the drawers

I've found a lot of my childhood stuff in some of the drawers here at our house.
Now that I'm back, it feels like there's a hidden treasure for me to be found on every room.

I guess the saying "the older it is, the more value it has" holds true even for old Nintendo Gameboy cartridges.
I searched once on Amazon the price of a Nintendo 64 in mint condition, it went up as high as $260. What, is that double or triple its original price upon release?!
Although buying second hand would be a better choice in terms of the price tag, we can't all be sure about the quality left after all those years.
But I guess I won't be buying one any time soon because the only game I want to play so far in the N64 (not just in emulators) is The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.

On the topic of antique gaming consoles, and also because of the rage about Pokemon X and Y, I tried to relive my first experience in Pokemon which is Pokemon Blue version.

Those two golden artifacts are just two of the many of my valuable childhood treasures on my drawer of memories.
While I don't have much interest in most of the games now, games such as Pokemon and Mario are exceptions.

My Game Boy Color still magically works with 2 AA batteries. The screen is a bit smudgy now because of the dust accumulated inside, but the speakers and buttons are all in perfect condition.

When I booted up the game, turns out my latest data was still intact.
As always my starter was a water pokemon, in this game it's Squirtle.

My pokemon record at that game was kinda ridiculous. I have a level 51 Blastoise, and the rest were level 20-30 common pokemons and one traded Farfetch'd with the name of DUX.

If ever i find the time, I might as well start the journey anew. I have already started a new game....and I picked Squirtle again.

Maybe my love of water pokemon rooted from Misty (Kasumi) in the original Pokemon series. That tough water pokemon trainer really deserves Satoshi.
I on the other hand deserve either Dawn or Rosa.
