An (unexpected) early gift

For over three or four months since I made this blog I've been raving about how I was saving for a Nintendo 3DS. My main reason for saving up for it was because of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. After a few months my craving for the console seemed to have waned but then came out Pokemon X and Y versions.

I started saving up since the start of the second semester hoping that I'd be able to save half the price of the console and the two games on top of my list. Yesterday when I went home (exactly a week BEFORE Christmas break) I didn't expect my mom to agree to buy me the console at Data Blitz in Harbor Point Ayala. The surprise doesn't end there however, since my mom insisted that she buy the console herself and I keep my savings (that's an Angel walking on earth, I tell you!). Of course, having recently turned an adult and wanting to help my mom in every way I can, buying the console for me without myself shedding a single coin made me feel a little guilty. After all the hard work my mom did and all the promises that I made concerning the console, she still ended up buying me my toy. In the end I'm still her baby and I'm still a big ol' mama's boy...and I'm proud of that.

Here's a shout out for my mom (just in case she browse my blog): THANK'S MOM! I LOVE YOU!

My first two games for the 3DS and the console itself
I've still yet to experience a full gameplay. Apparently the 3DS is a beat down when it comes to battery life, but I'll figure it out as soon as it completely charges later.
Last night I was able to try the console's camera as well as kick-off with Pokemon X. Keeping with tradition since generation III, I always pick the female character, Serena in this case (but I renamed her "Sami").

the friendly staff at Data Blitz offered me this Cosmo Black 3DS instead of their on-display (glossy?) Red console
I'll be keeping track of my progress in both games (and if ever I buy a new game) here on my blog.
Next games on my list (in no particular order) are:
- Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
- Super Mario 3D Land
- Animal Crossing
and Mario Kart 7

I meant to try out Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate but then I found out its fantastic gameplay but shallow story line (IGN), what's more it's not canon to the original series which is somehow of a letdown considering how great the original series has spanned. I hope Koji Igarashi and the people at Konami continue the old series, or at least give a conclusion.
If there's ever going to be a conclusion to the series it'll most likely be another -of Sorrow extract since Soma's timeline is the latest in chronological order.
