Back to school blues with Zelda

Well not really. My premature 3 and a half day vacation last weekend really took a lot out of my allocated academic attention because of my new games.
So far with three games for the 3DS (three of the most iconic series, mind you) The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, Super Mario 3D Land and Pokemon X keeps my blood alive even with just a few hours of gaming.

Right now I'm trying hard to focus on my studies until I go full hardcore over the Christmas break.
But I just can't seem to avert my attention out of gaming just yet.

It's been quite a while since I went full Nintendo retard mode. Ever since receiving my first PSP from my father (which was on 2007 or 2008) my attention was split between the two consoles (DS and PSP). But now that Sony released the PS Vita which acts as direct competition for Nintendo's 3DS, production of new PSP games has been meek.
I was initially torn between saving up for a PS Vita or a 3DS. There are only a few games in the PS Vita that caught my interest, but since I know the origins of these games I know I'd be immediately hooked the moment I played them. Then I turned my attention back to Nintendo where old and new titles occupy the 3DS's roster of games. It only took one Zelda, Mario and Pokemon title to capture me and avert my eyes out of PS Vita.
On a side note, if ever I chose a PS Vita, the games that I would've handpicked are P4: The Golden, P4 Arena, Project Diva F and the upcoming Gods Eater Burst 2 - questionably few and limited. Which is why I know I made the right decision.

Back to the blues that I am currently suffering...

During my free time (which includes now as I type all these) I'm immersing myself with the full history of The Legend of Zelda. It's not that hard to keep up especially if you've been with the game since its first ever game. But for people like me who's a child among the veterans of the game, I find my source of info on the web (unless I have a solid copy of the Hyrule Historia). The first game I played in the series is A Link to the Past (for the GBA) and I've still yet to finish the game, why you ask? It's because I have poor time management (right, right excuses, excuses). Next was Minish Cap then Phantom Hourglass, and currently Ocarina of Time 3D.

Reading about the franchise's origins and in-game history is like reading a history book through the eyes of both authors and spectators. It's a whole adventure in itself. The offside off all these is I become aware of the story without playing them (especially games made for home consoles) spoiling the fresh experience of discovery.
However, even if I have yet to play most of the previous games in the series, just with the few games that I've played I've already fallen in love with the series. Not just with Zelda, but the entirety of it (although Zelda has a special place in my organ that pumps blood (fr: Eska)).

Just a few minutes ago, I've came upon the info of another previous Zelda title to be remade for the 3DS. The people behind Zelda are on the talks of a Majora's Mask remake following the release of A Link Between Worlds.
I look forward to that considering Majora's Mask is Ocarina of Time's direct sequel. What's more I'm aware of how dark the storyline of Majora's Mask in comparison to the other series, making me want it even more.

It's best for me to make it a habit to complete the first games first before moving on to the next. Otherwise, I'd be a liar calling myself a hardcore gamer.
