Two days into the resumption of classes and academic activities and I still find it hard letting go of my adventure with my friends in Kalos.
I know I've said this too many times now that some of you might want to strangle me blue, but I'll still say it again...Pokemon X is one of the BEST games that I've played so far!
During one of my boring classes earlier, I came up with several ideas on what the future holds for the Pokemon franchise.
The fandom is mainly divided into two (actually three but I'll get to the 3rd one later).
Some wants a remake of Gen. III while some wants to take the series another step higher than where it already is.
There has been talk that the next Pokemon games to be released will be remakes of the Gen. 3 versions Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Before Pokemon X came in to the picture, I considered Gen. 3 as the second best of the franchise right after Gen. 2 (Silver, Gold). Now that there have been remakes of Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 (Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Heart Gold and Soul Silver, respectively) many anticipate the return of the Hoenn region in either a remake or a return in the series.
The other side of the division wants to continue the story of Pokemon after versions X and Y. I didn't pay much attention to predictions of others in some forums but some believe that the next game to be released is Pokemon Z, following the conventional releases of Gen. 1 with Yellow, Gen. 2 with Crystal, Gen. 3 with Emerald and Gen. 4 with Platinum. But take note Gen. 5 stepped outside of that convention and instead of Pokemon Gray, we got Pokemon Black and White versions 2 in a matter of two years.
While Pokemon Z seems plausible, I myself made my own predictions for the next generations.
Here are some of my ideas:
Pokemon Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall versions (out of the four seasons)
- Game Freak never released four titles in one generation of Pokemon though, but fans do want "a step higher" so why limit it to a step when you can take a leap? But I the downside here is that there are four different (yet close) stories, and players will likely hate the idea of too much differences.
Pokemon Sun (Stars) and Moon versions
- they've already tackled the idea of Time and Space in Gen. 4, this could be either a new game overall or a return of Sinnoh and Team Galactic
Pokemon Noise and Music versions
- well...it's just a quick idea of two contrasting forces so...yeah
or the possible remake of Gen. 3
Pokemon Sapphire Ocean, Emerald Sky and Ruby..umm..earth? versions
The third and smallest division is a Pokemon where the player, instead of travelling through a region. travels through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and a possible seventh region encompassing 7 continents all in all making up a fictional Earth.
Well all seem very interesting ideas but we can only remain patient and wait for Game Freak.
