Last night after mass, my mom and I were on a food hunt to see what restaurant in the Grove can offer up a new taste for dinner (we always go out to eat every Saturday night).
We usually eat at Bugong, Black and Brew, Cafe Ella and Eat Sumo (in intervals every month) but since new restaurants always open every semester in the area, it's nice to try out some of them every once in a while.
Last night we ate at El Burrito, a restaurant specializing in Mexican cuisine. They just opened last month and their store still seem to be on dry run.
Their menu is small, containing the conventional items every Mexican restaurant should have. Their main selling point is, true to their name, burritos. There were five choices of burritos in their menu (I think) and the others were pastas and rice meals.
The side dishes have cheese quesadilla, nachos and others.
I ordered beef burrito, my mom ordered tomato pasta.
Their place is really small, as small as their menu but it does have its unusual charm.
There were only about six tables in the restaurant and maybe three of those were family tables. They do have a friendly policy of 'share a seat, win an amigo' to their customers.
They have a blackboard wall for the customers to write on while they wait for their orders. It doesn't actually make up for the tight space inside and the unattractive color mixing of the restaurant.
Pink and Black (I can't remember), it makes it look like a restaurant owned by Bret Hart.
Our order took a little long to prepare but it was extremely satisfying. They mixed the cheese, vegetables and minced meat perfectly. My only problem with their food is that it wasn't served hot at all. It wasn't even warm!
But anyway, mom and I will be returning to El Burrito soon hungry for more (yes, yes that's Anton Ego)

our table number. I don't quite get the 63 when there was only about 6 tables there |
