I rarely watch/read about music oriented anime/stories but there are those jewels that sets them apart from the likes of K-On! and other type B catering animes.
One of these rare jewels is So Ra No Wo To.
I just started watching the anime two days ago, and I just finished episode three a few minutes ago. It's really a wonderful anime that uses music to express all sorts of emotions. This one greatly appreciates music unlike most music genre anime which uses it for entertainment.
While the only music presented in the anime came from a trumpet and a bugle, the sound is inspiring like there's no tomorrow.
The trumpet is known to be a lively instrument, but the music it brings in So Ra No Wo To is calming, especially their rendition of Amazing Grace in episode 3.
I'm expecting all sorts of drama and humor in the anime right now, there's still nine episodes to go. I do wonder if this one can make me bawl like a baby much like what I did in Gosick and Clannad After Story.
I am a little disappointed that the story is a little too carefree despite the current setting of the story. Kanata's flashbacks seem to be a mix of depressing and hopefulness, but it doesn't actually match well with the current setting.
I also note the small nuggets of wisdom that the series have every now and then.
