What seemed to be another lazy day turned into a tiring self-contained journey towards a bookstore to exchange my mom's 625 credit at National. Thanks to a mistake on National Bookstore's part, I got to go outside and unwillingly mingle with this thing called society while still gaining experience.
I still had a few gamer blues because of A Link Between Worlds. Finishing a game, especially that which have both great story and gameplay feels the same as finishing an anime. I always end up in an internal conflict whether I still have things to do in this world.
Anyway back to the search for 625.
I arrived at Olongapo around 4:10 pm. I rounded Harbor Point for a while taking time browsing the shelves of their toy store and Data Blitz.
While I still have my 2nd sem allowance intact, I can't just go around spending all of them in one go because I still have a lot of plans this four month vacation. However, I already assume that most of my summer ammunition (or ka-ching, whatever) will go bye bye this coming Saturday which is day 2 Ozine Fest 2014.
I found a few advanced Gunpla kits back in the toy store at Harbor Point. Still, despite my desire to build a big model my ka-ching keeper called wallet says otherwise. Hopefully there'll be some special discounts at the convention.
When I got to National Bookstore, I never thought picking up any item for free could be so hard. I found a lot of interesting books but most of them are priced higher than 625 so I have to add if I were to take them. Two book sets caught my attention - A Song of Ice and Fire (up to A Dance with Dragons), and four novels by John Green (but all I wanted at that time was The Fault in Our Stars).
I spent maybe an hour and a half browsing their shelves, looking at art materials and drooling over Parker Pens searching for an item which can resolve the 625 conflict.
In the end, after accidentally picking up an upside down book from one of the displayed shelves by the window I picked this up:
I also found another literary masterpiece way below a shelf across some corny pocketbooks.
I don't understand how these pocketbooks have a shelf on their own while the better books are left scattered and unorganized.
What kind of literary distortion is this?
Anyway, Lord of the Flies by William Golding was the other book that I bought. It actually took me quite a while to decide between getting another Murakami novel, Lord of the Flies or just get the Empire Striketh Back book. Ultimately Lord of the Flies won me out and now I have two new books up for good reads this vacation.
