Tips for Ozine

Going to Ozine Fest this coming weekend? Well here some precautions and tips that I think are quite obvious by now but then again I need to post something on my blog.

Ozine Fest is one of the two biggest anime conventions in the country. Originally the yearly events were held at several megatrade halls in SM Megamall but this year the event organizers has moved up to a bigger venue which is also the same venue for Cosplay Mania - SMX Convention.

The rules and regulations in the SMX Convention center are stricter but more organized compared to SM Megamall. The management are more welcoming compared to the enforcers of Megamall but one mistake on your part could immediately send you packing. Since SMX is a spacious place for events both in and out of the halls, the eyes of the management can see who are doing what and where.

I've already published an entry some time in the semester when I was less stressed by academics. You can all check it out here.

Or if you're too busy and just tl;dr-ing the heck out of my post then here are the general protocol when going to a convention:
- bring old tickets from past events of the same name. Some raffles are held mid-event with freebies up for grabs from several booths in the convention.
- the ideal minimum ammunition going into the warzone is 3000. Keep half in your wallet, the other in your bag. DO NOT spend it all during the first hours of the event. Prices go down near the end of the day especially on the last day of the event.
- bring a camera with a fully charged extra battery, zoom lens is recommended for stage shots especially during the appearance of the guests
- respect the event organizers, convention hall staff, cosplayers and all in all each other
- do not cut in line.
- keep a bottle of water with you at all times. While there are some food stalls in and out of the halls, if the crowd is too large it'll be hard to get to where you want to.
- be mindful of your belongings (how many times must we be reminded of that?) and of course, enjoy the event.
