Ah forget about what I can do tomorrow, I'm already in a daze anyway so might as well worsen it before I finally go back to bed.
I'm still not 100% that I'll be cosplaying Link on the next convention that I'll be attending but I am sure that right now Link is all I want to be. I've already practiced the poses, ocarina tunes and not to mention the famous..."HYA!!!".
Anyway, for now I'm focusing on the pros first before I go on to the costume. My target Link is the Ocarina of Time version (arguably the most famous Link in all of the franchise).
I closely followed the instructions in this blog for both the Hylian Shield and Master Sword.
I first drew the sketches (which also served as the instructions for Kuya Dado who cut the skeleton for me) of the shield and sword:
Still having trouble with the scaling but I'll get it soon. I plan to use the wood glue that I bought but Kuya Dado suggested using epoxy instead.
The shield lacks the bulky appearance that it has in the games. While I did plan on an Ocarina of Time look, this one looks a bit more like Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess.
Hopefully by tomorrow I can finally pick up some acrylic paints.

The shield is 22 inches long and 18 inches wide |
The sword's (still under construction) overall length is 35 inches |
I've worked on the outer layer of the shield and spay painted it silver this morning.
The body of the shield should be painted with blue acrylic paint and the symbols on the shield such as the triforce will be cut out from cardboard and reinforced with 2 or three layers.
the shield so far |
