NP Asked: Have you ever bought a video game because of its box?

From vol. 264 (February 2011). The cover was Zekrom and Reshiram from Pokemon Black and White Version.

Yes, I have. Yoshi's New Island was the game and it was the worst gaming-related decision that I made since buying Mirror of Fate which were minutes apart. I never buy games on impulse especially if it's something I will be playing for long hours inside the bathroom. However, in Yoshi's New Island's case, the moment I saw the box with Yoshi carrying baby Mario on his back and holding a giant egg was so nostalgic that I had to buy it. Sadly, the game play was a real let down. It's a damn kids game with unattractive chalk-drawn graphics and slippery motion-controlled mini-games, and that's a no-no in the potty.

...by the way it's for sale so feel free to contact me anytime. I really need funds right now. After E3 this June, who knows how many upcoming N3DS games (including Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Super Smash Bros.) will make my wallet cry.

Poll questions:

Cartoony graphics or Realistic graphics?
- this is a difficult questions. I really like both mainly because there's a corresponding design to the story that they tell. Much like Zelda's Wind Waker vs. Twilight Princess, for example. I prefer cartoony graphics if the story is light (but still has a deep meaning and message, of course) and full of humor, while realistic graphics are those with emphasis in a much darker and serious story.

Which video game scenario is most likely to happen to you?
- Based from the choices, well, I don't really...know.

Do you read game manuals?
- It depends on the game. If the game involves complex controls like Resident Evil, then yes I do. But I skip the manuals for self-explanatory game mechanics.

Is ninja school a waste of money?
- NO. My Naruto collection from when I was still a kid still lives for a reason.

Game disc art -
- Should be awesome. The measure of a great game isn't simply found in the game itself, other factors come to play starting from the box art.

What is the best part of Super Mario All-Stars for Wii?
- I dunno. I don't have a Wii.

Which piece of the Triforce would you want to own?
- Now this is an excellent questions. I'd definitely go for the Triforce of Courage. There's nothing like saving the day, the kingdom and the princess.

Who would you like to get a valentine from?
- This is a difficult question. My first love in gaming was Samus but ever since drowning myself in the wonderful world of The Legend of Zelda, I've become attracted to the titular princess. My favorite Zelda to date is Twilight Princess Zelda (also the most mature). Samus Aran on the other hand is a different story. She's always so busy with her space raids that she has gone full badass over the years. But unlike Princess Zelda, Samus is single so...oh yeah.
