finally |
After two and a half in-game months I finally triggered the town event Memories to progress the plot towards Arc 3. I'm actually thankful that the game didn't give me a hard time. Most forums in gamefaqs have gamers going on for a whole in-game year for the town event to be triggered. In my case, I followed every tip given on gamefaqs. I focused on raising Amber and Dylas' friendship levels. I kept the two with me for nearly a month drowning Amber with tomato juice and stuffing sashimi on Dylas, but that didn't do anything. Other town events were triggered, I got a false alarm when a town event Shining Memories was triggered, I thought that was it, I was ready to do a football goal celebration until I saw the participants.
The main problem with triggering the town event is the number of festivals, holidays and birthdays occurring within a season. All the free days are segmented from each other making the event difficult to trigger. This is where the Cancel Festival Order comes in to play. I didn't use it myself though, but if it's desperation time to trigger the event, might as well spend all those well earned Prince Points to cancel festivals. I'm pretty sure it'll be helpful since the number of regular days per season will increase. All you have to bother now are the birthdays.
Here are what I believe to be the things that I did that helped trigger the town event:
Explore Leon Karnak
- Leon Karnak is the first dungeon in Arc 3, after conquering the dungeon Rune Prana will open. When I returned to Leon Karnak, there were some areas that can be accessed even if the town event hasn't been triggered yet. Provided you have a high enough level (I was at level 130 at the time) it's possible to brave the dungeon, horde in some materials and just use Escape when HP gets low. Be quick about it though since Doctor Overprice will be waiting 50% of the time if you get knocked out. That's 50,000 gold out of your wallet (I'm pretty sure that's the maximum amount he'll charge).
Anyway, I explored the top right part of Leon Karnak, even triggering a few switches. When I came back to town to buy some Blue Crystal seeds at Carnation's (for a request) Amber and Dylas suddenly came inside after I entered. The event wasn't triggered just yet because I was already inside at the time. So I just left and re-entered and then there it was, the town event was triggered.

Explore Sharance Maze
- Sharance Maze is one heck of a dungeon with a gigantic difficulty spike. All the monsters are at least level 250 with boss monsters going higher than 300. It's basically unintentional suicide going inside the Sharance Maze at level 130. My gear aren't even mid-tier yet, my helpful monster companions get pawned after a few hits and I soon find myself paying 50,000 gold for getting revived. But conquering the Sharance Maze is not the point here. I just explored it, I even got a few good materials from treasure chests and tamed a Chipsqueek (level 285) that doesn't know how to attack. But at least I got something out of it. One time I brought Dylas and Amber with me, they fainted within a minute against a Buffamoo but I think it did something to them to make them decide to go to Carnations.
Maybe it's not just Sharance Maze, I think bringing Amber and Dylas with you exploring dungeons is important.
Talk to Everyone
- Talking to everyone in town is a tedious task but sometimes it triggers a town event, just now the right town event. But as other town events keep triggering then the chances of triggering Memories should rise.
Finish requests, Issue an Order and...spend and earn Money?
- I don't know, maybe? When I finally got tired of bringing Dylas and Amber with me feeding them juice and sashimi, I issued an order to expand my farm and worked on my fields. There's no doubt that the best vegetable to plant and sell is the Leek. It's my favorite as well because, well, Ievan Polkka. Harvesting a field's worth of Leek earned me around 200, 000 gold. I spend about 70,000 gold buying Leek seeds so I guess the return is worth it. I just like to note that the town event was triggered when I let go of Amber and Dylas in favor of doing more prince work.
Hello
ReplyDeleteI know this post is quite old but I wanted to share my experience for triggering the Memories event.(Especially since the switch version will come out soon)
After Ventuswill disappeared, in the second day when you visit the place in the castle she usually stayed, and you say " this is for you.." I put a pancake there just after it (since pancakes were the favourite food of Ventuswill). The pancake disappeared in the same day.
So I started putting pancakes there. They usually stayed for two~three days there without disappearing. I also started to raise my friendship with Dylas and Amber. Unfortunately, before I finished raising it,I accidentaly triggered the event "a day with leon" ( or something like this), so it took a while before I could really try to trigger the memories event.
Anyways, after i finished the quest, I put Dylas and Amber in my party and went to a field dungeon and stayed there leveling them until 3 a.m. (Dylas became a lvl95 and Amber lvl 101)
I went back to my home, saved my progress and them went to Ventuswill usual place ( the pancake I put two days before was still there) and stayed the rest of the night there. At 6:00 a.m. Dylas and Amber abandoned the party and I followed them to the flower shop and them... The event was triggered.
I finished the 2nd arc on the beggining of summer ( day 5 or 6, I think?) And the quest triggered on the 29 of summer.
I didn't talk with everyone in town really, though I did try to talk and give gifts to Leon. His FL now is 5.
