I've posted a lot of progress reports about my gaming adventures with the 3DS that I've lost count of the number I was at, not like I posted them by parts anyway but it just feels more appropriate that way.
Anyway, even with an unforgiving schedule and excessive academic bleeding I still find the time to play some games during the weekend. After my struggle against Leon Karnak from Rune Factory 4, I set it aside for a while and went back to the other games I haven't finished yet. Kid Icarus: Uprising was first off my list where I stopped at Chapter 13: The Lunar Sanctum.
Things went on extremely fast during the last chapter of the Forces of Nature Arc. Phosphora was a cool boss - her boss fight was annoying though. Still, I find her extremely likable.
But I'm still a die-hard fanboy of Viridi.
Here's the comments I kept on my notes about the remaining arcs:
Aurum Arc
- the whole Aurum fortress/nation/spaceship is more bizarre than Pandora's Labyrinth of Deceit
- Pyrrhon is my least liked character
- hate this arc overall
Chaos Kin Arc
- whoah you play as a little girl, a little dog, and Magnus all in one chapter
- this Arc had a lot of new variety added into the game such as the one above, Pit riding the Lightning Chariot, two loading screens in one ground battle (Chapter 19)
- you fight Palutena but she's not the real enemy in Chapter 20 (Castlevania: SoTN tribute, anyone?)
- Viridi gets the spotlight behind the curtains in this arc. Her relationship with Pit just blossomed into a magnificent cosmos.
- Ground battle with Pittoo. I gotta admit their pre-boss rallying cry was awesome and awkward at the same time.
- Viridi's line about the Boom Stomper and Bumpety Bomb in Chapter 21 was the cutest I've heard in the whole game. I keep replaying that chapter just for that line of hers.
- this is most likely the best arc in the whole story.
Hades Arc
- "what the chick!" - my reaction after Pandora (Amazon Pandora) resurfaced from the Rewind Spring
- you play as PITTOO! But it's not as amazing as playing as Magnus(so many 'as')
- The Three Trials followed by The Wars End left me with pure contentment with the game. I'm not sad that it ended, nor am I disappointed about the ending.
Of course I'd definitely want more of Kid Icarus but this game really brought it out, anything following this Kid Icarus would probably be a masterpiece that deserves the same throne as Ocarina of Time.
The bad side here is that Masahiro Sakura, the man behind this pure awesomeness as well as Super Smash Bros. said on an interview that he doesn't plan on making a sequel. Now that hurts more than scorched feathers. Looks like Hades' remark about coming back after 25 years might hold true after all.
