When I save my allowance for the whole semester it usually means that I'm saving up either to fund my current cosplan or to have spending money during an anime/cosplay convention. It's a little different this semester because I spent part of it to buy Smash 3DS and Alpha Sapphire, however I still had one other thing in mind that I would like to buy since the start of the semester, that's right a WiiU.
Buying a home console is no joke thanks to its heavy price tag. Obviously, with what little savings I had left from this year's first semester it was not enough to cover the console, games and accessories that I was planning to buy, so my mom and I agreed that my whole allowance for next semester would go to the WiiU. Yep, I am that serious in getting one. However, my current savings now plus my whole allowance next semester are still not enough to cover the numbers indicated on the receipt. My mom didn't want to discuss it with me any further so I just assumed that I owe her big time for this...by that I mean I need to study harder in compensation for her utter kindness of shouldering the remainder of the ka-ching. It really is supposed to be save big, spend big instead of save big, spend bigger. But anyway, thanks mom!
OBTW, I have a habit of naming my material companions. I call my WiiU Yuwii (as in Yui).
It took me the whole night to configure the console spending the majority of it thanks to the system update.
The first system update ran for two hours but it failed because of our unstable internet connection. The second one ran for another two hours but thankfully it pushed through to 100%. The whole configuration itself was easy, all I had to do was import my Mii from my 3DS and set up the parental control.

The first game that I played was The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, and wow I cried when the jolly theme song played.
I've been practicing Windwaker's theme song on the ocarina for a long time so I'm familiar with the song but when it played on the screen it was different, very different. Perhaps it's also because it's my first time stepping on to a new domain of gaming that I never had the chance to during my childhood, but those few minutes that I stood there watching the King of Red Lions sail the overworld of Windwaker as the theme song played, it was amazing.
I haven't progressed much with the game yet. I still need a lot of getting used to on the wide gamepad.
my god, Aryll is cute |
Now, please forgive me for this poorly written entry because my head is floating right now. I also need to get some Z's. I've deprived myself too much of something too good.
