Once upon a time I was addicted to Chrome Shelled Regios, so addicted that part of it latched onto my dreams. The story mainly revolved around two cities during the course of the 24-episode series: Zuellni and Glendan. Zuellni is an academic city while Glendan is a proto-city or what I would just describe as a home or an abode, though I won't exactly call it peaceful because of all the Contaminoids.
Anyway, whenever I was going back to school after a vacation I always say 'I'm going back to Zuellni' because the University is to me what Zuellni is to Layfon, and when I am about to release myself from the shackles of academic responsibilities I then say 'I'm going back to Glendan' because my home back in the province, though not really all that peaceful with all the noises and nonsense arguments and such, it ultimately is to me what Glendan is to Layfon - a home and a place where I can sleep for ten hours straight without my programming exercises judging me. I do this because of one dream I had during the better sleeps I had in high school where I dreamt that I was in an argument with someone then I yelled 'I'm going back to Zuellni!' before heading straight to the high school that I went to. I didn't have much meaning then because I wasn't far away from home when I was still in high school. Now, it's just really appropriate.
ready to go to war...I mean Glendan. Going back to Glendan. |
The most restless part of going home for me is not the day you go home but the night before when you're just shaking with excitement knowing that there's fast internet, grandma's cooking and that familiar house smell you grew up with where you're going.
