I think it's about time I gave this blog another post...
ok, not what I had in mind |
In a few days we're at the 2nd week mark of the vacation and I still haven't gotten the sleep I wanted to kill for during hell week. But unlike the all nighters I pulled of during that eldritch week I actually enjoy depriving myself of sleep this time.
My usual schedule is most likely this:
Yes, Christmas vacation, a time to be thankful for sleep by actually not sleeping. And to further make myself more miserable about it I think I'm in that point of my life where I'm always tired to do anything except the things I like (and it doesn't include socializing).
Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U kept me awake last night. As usual, my main is still Zero Suit Samus but even with my efficiency with her in the 3DS version I found myself at the mercy of Level 9 CPUs in the Wii U version. While it's fun to play with other Smash players around the world online play For Glory mode is a little frustrating thanks to the lag.
fighting with the original controls was confusing |
Still, I found a couple of useful techniques thanks to the players I've fought with.
There's this one player from Osaka, Japan who stayed with me in the same playroom for maybe more than an hour. I kept using my Zero Suit Samus and she alternated between Lucina and Lady Palutena. I won the first few matches straight but then she started altering her strategy to attract, dodge, and then attack. I can't remember how many times I fell for her trick giving me a few losses as well. I adopted her strategy and employed it on Zero Suit, it's a little difficult on the get go since I'm not used to the analog stick of the Pro Controller but the result was amazing...even if I did get close call wins a few more times.
I have to note her persistence, though. Most of the Smash players I fought with exited the playroom after we've had two or three matches, but with her I think we fought at least ten matches.
the person I fought with for the longest time |
Sadly, I had to leave her because my playtime was up (a.k.a I needed to sleep). It was a little sad on my part because I really enjoyed playing Smash with her.
...and that's the closest thing I had to romance, I'm sorry to say.
I'm planning on making a Smash 4 Wii U vs. 3DS comparison sometime today or the next millennium so, yeah.
