Sigh, thanks to the rain last February 14 I failed to capture and immortalize almost all of the things I saw interesting during the last day of the Feb. Fair. Without photos this will most likely be a dull post but whatever, I've already written it, can't let it go to waste.
So, ready?
The University's February Fair concluded two days ago with plenty of floating hearts, romance, and music, and with the untimely accompaniment of rain. Love was obviously polluting the air again that day I was surprised no single person suffocated. But meh who cares about romance when your single, amirite? Besides, I'm not really single, all my waifus are just in another dimension that's all...yeah *sobs*.
Anyway, the latest Feb. Fair went by fast but I do find it the most memorable out of the three I've attended mainly because of the variety of food stalls. Lots and lots of them from one corner to the next. Food is and always will be my first love (this is best explained by my waistline and weight).
The fair ran from February 9 to 14, a whole school week, but academics remained uninterrupted. Still, during the evenings that I spared to go to the fair the Freedom Park was always crowded that I was forced to dispel my social barrier just to get from one booth to the next.
I went to the fair on the evenings of Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Wednesday was the semi-finals of Class Distraction XIV. Now, I don't normally watch concerts not because I'm not a fan of live performances but because I really don't know any OPMs. I'm familiar with a few but those songs are most likely as old as my parents. Anyway, mom and I went there mainly to watch the band where two of my course-mates and friends are members of, Index 4. Check them out here.
There were a lot of guest bands and performers that evening but, maybe it's because I'm just not that familiar with OPMs, I failed to understand a lot of the songs. Most of the times I only heard shouts and screams that if you closed your eyes while listening to the bands you'd think there's someone trying to achieve Super Saiyan 3...or get that last piece of, as Deadpool calls it, stink pickle out. Index 4's performance was the only one that I could clearly understand. Mom and I stayed until their performance, we got home around 12 midnight.
Friday, oh that glorious day. Read the majority of it here. I went to the fair around 9 mainly to join the UPLB 3DS group. Just as I expected Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was the dominant game that time, it actually made me reconsider playing Monster Hunter but, no. I still find it hard to fully enjoy MHr (yeah I suck). I also made a grave mistake by opening Mii Plaza without SP tagging all of the members of the group...all those puzzle tiles, gone!!
I left the booth around 11 to gather some food boosts but in the end I only ended up with deep fried chicken skin and a waffle. The real food fest started the next evening.
Saturday, yep...Maybe Cupid ran out of arrows so he took to water droplets as a last resort, but seriously? Out of all the days to just let out all the heavenly water supply it had to be Saturday? The last day of the fair? C'mon! He could have contacted Oliver Queen for some arrows, right? Right?
The rain didn't stop anyone from having fun though, as the fair showed no signs of slowing down. The show must (and did) go on. Mom and I went around the park maybe four or five times food hunting, but our priority was the well hidden Takoyaki King. In the past Feb. Fairs they were always one of the more famous food stalls but they seemed to have failed in picking a good spot this time. Were they hiding this?
Was it their...master flan, or was it simply a failed flan B? (Ok, I'll stop now).
While eating the food we gathered, a Swedish band performed on stage. I didn't get their name but I did enjoy their performance of Paraiso (now that song I really know). After their performance, mom and I went on another round of food hunting this time getting a bucket of fries (which I accidentally dropped wasting a lot of those precious potatoes), two cups of sweetened iced kapeng barako, nachos, lil' orbits, tuna waffle, and lastly deep fried chicken skin (yet again). Mom checked out some of the open booths selling dry goods after our mini food fest. After maybe an hour of strolling around we went back to the apartment.
We were supposed to stay until the finals of Class Distraction but it was getting late plus I had Termina to save!
Welp, that is all I have to say about this year's February Fair. I enjoyed it, there were plenty of new experiences for me but, again, the highlight was...da foooooood!!
Gotta go!
