Majora's Mask 3D Part 3: The Goron of Snowhead

First of all I again apologize for the badly written part 2 of my Majora's Mask 3D playthrough. I'll try not to let it happen again but, well, if you've been paying attention to the contents of this blog for the past two years you know that's not true.
it's been quite a while sine I last played
So, ready?
My memories were a bit fuzzy when my save file opened up with Mighty Goron Link in the Mountain Village. I didn't know what I was supposed to do or if I still had something to do before heading on to Snowhead Temple. After a brief rock n' roll to oblivion against a blizzard caused by a gigantic Goron blocking the path towards the temple I went back to the village to figure out what other things I have yet to accomplish.

Goron Lullaby
After rolling around some more I finally discovered the frozen Goron Elder buried in a pile of snow. To thaw the elder Link needs to pour a bottle of hot spring water which can be obtained all the way back at Darmani's grave. The pattern of the invisible ladder is right left right if I remember correctly, and heck I should remember it correctly after how many times I had to go back and forth due to the "hot" water suddenly turning into "ordinary" spring water after a set amount of time.
After successfully thawing the elder Goron Link tells him how much his son misses him and that he's been crying all this time creating such a baccano inside Goron Village. Saddened by the news the elder teaches Goron Link the intro to the Goron's Lullaby in hopes that it might calm the young Goron in his absence.
To complete the song Link heads back to Goron Village and plays it to the crying Goron to soothe his restless spirit. Hearing the melody in bongo drums the baby stops crying and teaches Link the rest of the song.
Now that it's complete, time to head back to that towering Goron blocking the path to Snowhead.

Snowhead Temple
It's crucial that Link has to be in his Mighty Goron form while playing the Lullaby otherwise the giant Goron won't fall asleep.
Snowhead Temple is rather small compared to some Zelda dungeons I've cleared. While it has a fantastic level design it was pretty difficult to maneuver around as a Mighty Goron often falling down to the very bottom part of the temple thanks to some miscalculations when rock n' rollin'.
The mini boss of this dungeon is the ever so annoying Wizzrobe.
I had some serious beef with these guys back at my playthrough of the original The Legend of Zelda. Thankfully they're a lot easier to manage this time around. Defeating the first Wizzrobe will give Link the Fire Arrow, a very useful item for this dungeon which is basically ice all over.
Defeating the 2nd Wizzrobe to appear later in the dungeon will lead to the Boss Key. What took me a while to figure out is how to actually get to the Boss room since a big pillar is blocking the path towards it. I had to consult Zelda Dungeon to figure out that the ice part of the pillar can be punched out of the way lowering the pillar just enough to open the path leading to the Boss room.
Boss fight time!

Goht
This dungeon's boss fight is against something that looks like a hell spawn that came out of a Castlevania game. It's big, it's creepy and it was hella fun.
To deal some damage to Goht Link needs to chase it around as a Mighty Goron and hit it with its spike until it falls down. A window of opportunity opens when it briefly bites the dust allowing Link to either hack and slash the eyeball that pops out of the monstrosity or snipe it with a generous serving of some flaming friggin' arrows. The more damage Goht endures the more boulders and lightning bolts it throws at you, and the faster it runs. I just kept repeating the same pattern of offense while employing some serious Mario Kart skills I've obtained over the years of kart racing until I finally won the battle.
It was a lot of fun and incredibly fast paced compared to most pattern-oriented boss fights in Zelda.

There will be a cutscene showing another giant saying that they are the G-U-A-R-D-I-A-N-S before cutting to white. Spring finally returns to the Mountain Village thawing the Winter frosts that bit the heart of the Gorons. Link on the other hand finds that he's in the company of a frog shortly afterwards.

And they lived happily ever after...
