June 27 + 28, 2013

Alright, I'm sorry for another two-in-one post. I wasn't really busy with anything academic yesterday. It's just a certain heartrending article that I've read which kept me from posting. Anyway, let me start with June 27.

June 27

I woke up around 6:00 am. Usual morning routine.
I got to the bathhouse around 6:50, when I made my way inside, our instructor blocked my path and instructed me to head on to the Baker Hall.
The Baker Hall has a history regarding Filipino Prisoners and Japanese Soldiers, I think I can just elaborate on that on another post.
Baker hall was our location of exercise today. First were warm-up drills which consists of 3 laps around the inner area of the hall and stretching. After the warm-up drills we did a series of 10 (or 20) meter run-exercises. It was mainly to train the resistance and endurance of our knees and feet. Finally, we did a series of core build-up exercises which required us to spread yoga mats and lie down on the floor either giving pressure to the back or the solar plexus.

When I got back to my dorm, I surfed the net visiting my favored websites (Sankaku Complex, Tumblr, 9gag, facebook). I read an article on SanCom which was about the latest issue of a manga.

(SPOILER ALERT: IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE LATEST CHAPTERS OF SORA NO OTOSHIMONO PLEASE SKIP THIS PART)

On the photos included in the article was Sohara scattering to pieces.

As for me it wasn't until I read the article when I started reading the manga.
I wanted to know how a generally comedic (and sometimes heartrending) manga would result in a chapter like this.
So it basically spoiled me as well because this page will be forever etched into my mind as I make my way to that chapter.
Like I said, I started reading the manga only yesterday and with my cluttered schedule and, most of the times, slow internet connection I'm only at chapter 14.

(END OF SPOILER)

The rest of the day went by a little slow.
I am really having trouble staying awake at my CMSC 21 subject. We had a quick lesson at CMSC 57. A lecture in Math 27. And I enjoyed my HUM 1 subject.
About 3 days ago, we were asked to pass a 100-word story by group. In our group, I made my own 100-word story and after presenting it to the group, they all agreed to submit that.
Our professor, Mr. Yapo, gave his comments on all of the submitted stories and when the projector flashed his comments about the story I made, he said - "Fantastic Storyline" and gave us a score of 18/20.
As an aspiring writer, that comment really gave me a motivational boost. I was very happy.
In STAT 1 lab, we had a short discussion about Summation Notation and number proving (or something like that). After the discussion, we had our first exercise for the semester which I am sure didn't get a high score because all throughout that 3 hours of grueling "Statistical Thinking" my mind was at the chapter where Sohara seemed to disappear.
When time was up (take not, time-up...it means I didn't finish the exercise...we had 2 damn hours to work on that and I still didn't finish it...that just made me a little sad) I visited the church and went back to the apartment.

I spent the evening reading Sora no Otoshimono and editing the conclusion to the 2nd chapter of my fantasy light novel.

That's all for June 27.

June 28, 2013

I woke up around 6:00 am. Usual morning routine.
I got to our STAT 1 lecture class venue early. We had a quiz first...and I failed the quiz miserably only gaining 1 out of 5 points.
After STAT 1 lecture, I went back to my apartment and spent the 5 hours of free time reading Sora no Otoshimono and doing random stuff on the internet...by random I mean something "midori" of course.
I used the last 1 and a half hour to study my Math 27 notes.

I got to our Math 27 classroom 15 minutes early. My 2 friends and bloc mates arrived almost at the same time,. I lent my Norwegian Wood copy to JR, saying that he could use a good romance story.
We had a short refresher about our previous topics before taking the exercise.
I was able to finish the exercise a little over 10 minutes and managed to get only one error which was only a warning and no point deduction.

After Math 27, I crossed the road and went to the church (yes the church is exactly across the Math Building). When I entered the church, the visiting Holy Face of Jesus was already on the altar. According to the schedule, it arrived around 8:00 am this day.
The church also seems to be set up for a wedding ceremony in a few minutes.

I returned to my apartment to take a water break and went on my way to the Student Union building.
I spent 40 minutes there working on the script of the 100-word story which is to be turned into a ten-minute short movie.
After the 30 minutes, I went to 7/11 to buy a juice drink which wasn't really pleasant to the taste.
I went to IBS afterwards with Pipo Angels singing 100% Pure into my ears. As I waited for time to pass by, I ate 4 (or was it 5) pieces of tokneneng (or as the socialites put it, Egg Waffle...the Quail Eggs wrapped in orange breading mix).

Our NASC 2 was all about GIS and Remote Sensing. After the class, I went out of my way and consulted the professor about information which is not necessarily relevant to the subject matter. I asked about how satellites are launched into space and if the ISS has anything at all to do with these satellites. I got positive answers for both questions and ma'am urged me to read more about it on the internet...which of course I will not be doing because I have Sora no Otoshimono waiting for me.

I went to the Freedom Park for a while to test out the Panorama mode of my Alca-pony phone. The panorama of the field is a little blurry, though I really can't use my being new to panorama pictures as an excuse. Here's the picture:

it's a little small when posted on the blog so apologies for that

I went to Vega Arcade for a while (no it's not a gaming arcade). I forgot to check on my insurance card earlier so I suffered the consequence of not being able to get it today. I have to wait until monday for that.
So as punishment for my forgetfulness, I bought myself milk tea from Monster Tea House.
I wanted to try out a new milk tea flavor and so I went with Red Matcha w/ Red Bean. But since there was a shortage of Red Bean I got pearls in my drink instead.
The Red Matcha is not exactly red (whatever matcha means I don't know) and it didn't have a very pleasing taste.
It leaves a barf-inducing after taste and the overall quality is definitely not good, in my opinion.
It might not be the Tea House's fault labeling it one of their "Must Try" in their menu...maybe taste buds of people do differ by magnitudes.
I've been typing my heart out with this post for about 30 minutes now. I plan to watch the Garden of Words by Makoto Shinkai (the same person who brought us 5cm Per Second, Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Below, Voices from a Distant Star, and a few great anime short films).
