I'm in the verge of taking back what I said about A Link Between Worlds being less challenging than its predecessors. I've collected two paintings so far and the boss at the second dungeon gave me a frustrating time.
I was a witness of a firsthand (lol, pun intended) comeback of the Floormaster. While they're not as frightening as their Ocarina of Time counterpart, that patch of shadow appearing below Link in the Skull Woods gave me the creeps, it made my skin crawl like crazy.
Thanks to Link's merge ability, though, I got to survive the dungeon without any problem.
The hard part was just about to be served extra hot and difficult to cut in the form of the dungeon's boss. A GIANT FLOORMASTER...A DAMN GIANT ARMOURED FLOORMASTER with an eye for a weak spot (almost similar to the giant hand found in the desert world of Super Mario 64).
The first part of the battle was simple enough. Just merge with the wall and wait for the Floormaster to knock itself out then slash away. Halfway through the bout the Floormaster started to get smart by smashing little Link a number of times before finishing with a fired up punch. It took me all of my nine hearts, a fairy's five recovered hearts and a second try to figure out how not to deplete the Ravio gauge (that's what I like to call it) while avoiding the damn gigantic slapper.
I had to take out my frustration via verbal abuse to the Floormaster and the stupidly maintained flooring of the boss room. After a series of frustrating and desperate movements I finally figured out how to avoid the Floormaster. Turns out I just had to ran towards the direction of the wrist and merge when he's ready to punch me. A few more hack and slashes by button mashing the A button and I earned myself another heart container and my second painting, Lady Seres.
I'm on my way to obtaining the third sage at the area of the desert palace. Transferring between worlds in order to reach certain platforms is a little frustrating. That's the use of those 20 pushpins provided for the map I know but I like to live dangerously and low precision was the price to pay.
Meanwhile at Pokemon X, I'm still enjoying the BGM of Snowbelle City, a little level grinding on the side would probably secure my victory in the Pokemon League. It saddens me that the main story revolving around Kalos is over already (or is it) but I know there's a lot of post-game goodies to collect and I'm really looking forward to that.
