I went full steam ahead on my new 3DS title for two days now. I can say that, so far with my current progress, A Link Between Worlds lacks the challenge found in previous Zelda games. Its difficulty is almost synonymous to Phantom Hourglass. While I do enjoy exploring Hyrule and Lorule, completing side quests, solving dungeons and fighting enemies I'm not getting that Nintendo Hard gaming difficulty that remained with most Zelda titles over the years.
I'm playing a Link to the Past as well and with my current gameplay with the title and the accumulated hours of exploration I am certain that A Link to the Past is far more challenging than A Link Between Worlds.
Right now I'm currently collecting the painting of the sages in Lorule. Issues with the game's difficulty aside, A Link Between Worlds still is a perfect addition to the Zelda franchise. It has a great story, a wide and colorful world, lots of side quests, and great characters old and new.
I'm a little disappointed that I spoiled myself of Ravio's identity even before I played the game. Still he's a whole lot jollier than our own often constantly silent hero.
With 4 gaming hours (checked from activity log) I've reached Lorule and collected 1 painting of the seven sage paintings.
Next on the games that I played these past few days is Pokemon X. Last time I posted anything about Pokemon X was my escapade at Shalour city and the Kalos Power Plant. Well now I'm on my way to challenge the elite four.
The cut scene shown when Xerneas surfaced made me fall in love with my character even more. She's so hot and I thank Gamefreak for improving Pokemon to that extent.
Invading the Flare HQ was pretty straightforward. The difficult part was at the Lysandre Cafe'. I powered through with my party pokemon most notably my Blastoise, Lucario, Delphox and Meowstic.
Capturing Xerneas was also a no brainer since the pokemon himself wanted to join the character by means of permanent ownership. If you ended up reducing Xerneas' life to zero the battle would just start over until he's captured. I'm pretty sure that's the game's way of telling the player to just use the Master Ball but I don't think so. Like I always did with the previous generation I remain stingy when it comes to the Master Ball. I managed to capture Xerneas using an Ultra Ball.
Next biggest thing that happened were the series of trainer battles against Shauna, Tierno and Trevor, and Wulfric at Snowbelle City.
I gotta say Snowbelle City's theme music is the best in the game. Soft music in a land of snow, what more can we ask for a wonderful holiday (or everyday) setting?
I powered through Wulfric's wonderfully crafted gym with Delphox and Essere. Fire types sure come in handy in in shot-ing ice types.
I can't bring myself to leave Snowbelle City yet because of the excellent music. So I saved my progress and stopped playng for a while.
Only eight days remain in my vacation, I aim to finish Pokemon X by then and maybe at least one Zelda title. Basing from my current progress I guess my best bet would be A Link Between Worlds.
