Summer Daze 31

I delayed for a few hours because I actually forgot about this last night. Maybe I got too caught up working on the pommel of the master sword while watching the Matrix Revolutions.

Other than my Frozen repeat marathon of Let it Go with my little nephew, the only other thing that I did seriously was, yep you've guessed it, the pommel of the sword.

I was quite unsure how to work on the pommel. Since it was made out of a half inch plywood it's flat from the tip of the blade to the pommel. While the details of the Master Sword are already fixed in place, all I have to do is make the 2D looking sword 3D. I Think in Comics' step-by-step procedure made it look simple with just scrap materials. My methods ended up paper mache'-ing the heck out of it.
Imagine all the white glue, water and paper towel that I wasted trying to get the right shape and texture.

baka baka baka baka! paper mache' baka!
Right now I've "successfully" finished the handle and pommel. I've still yet to paint them, but I feel comfortable with how it looks as of the moment. Let's just hope that it doesn't get ruined once my "artistic" skills come in to play.
