No matter how still and quiet the day is, the night will always be more somnolent. I've stayed up late long enough to know that the dead time of the day is still cheerful than the dead time of the night. Does the presence of light do something in how we perceive sound?
I just broke through my sleep barrier for an hour trying to wait for my pocket wifi device to fully recharge with the sole intention of installing a COBOL compiler on my lappy, but after checking only a while ago it appears that I've already installed it on the VisualBox's Ubuntu a few weeks ago. So yeah, I just wasted one hour of sleepy time.
And to top it all off, I chose to write about it on my blog instead of going straight to Dreamland. At the very least, I'm safe from being in a daze tomorrow since I have every reason to sleep in because tomorrow is Ninoy Aquino Day, a special non-working holiday...hooray.
I tested out a few basic COBOL programs, they all worked fine, my Ubuntu is just too slow. Tomorrow, though a holiday, it's not much of a free day since I still have the Wage Computer to work on. If I'm inspired enough maybe I'll finally finish the Time Heralding Bastion for the 6-hole ocarina. Hopefully, these aren't empty promises anymore.
Anyway, about COBOL - I'm not sure what's up with this programming language and why it sounds so notorious when upperclassmen talk about it. It's like the Programming Language who must not be named. So far, it doesn't look like something that could kill me, and I hope it stays that way. I'll never know what kind of monstrosity it would turn out to be when the Chaos Kin takes control of it.
Oh yeah, speaking of Chaos Kin - I've made great progress in my KI:U adventure. After the Aurum Arc, things took a slight turn to the dark side starting in Chapter 18: The Chaos Ring. Thanks to a handful of spoilers, my guess that the "thing" that flew out of the Lunar Sanctum after the battle with Arlon was indeed the Chaos Kin. Anyway, it was nice to get a surprise and variety in the game such as controlling new characters even for just a while. Magnus was a fun character to use, he was surprisingly fast and had easy handling during the boss fight with Pit.
The following chapters were as engaging as they could get, but I wish I could forget about The Lightning Chariot chapter. That was probably the longest chapter that I raided since Medusa's Final Battle. I think it took me more than 20 minutes excluding the boss fight (boss fight was another good variety, by the way, but it was easy-peasy).
I'm starting to like Viridi more than Lady Palutena. There's just something in Viridi's voice that sounds so cute, playful and familiar - and after digging through Divinipedia I found out Viridi has the same English voice actress as Princess Bubblegum.
